Privacy Policy

Farmstand Hub (“Farmstand Hub,” “we,” “us”), a Bright Beans Media product, helps people discover farm stands and farmers markets. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to farmstandhub.com.

Information We Collect

• Account info: if you sign in, your name and email (via Google, Apple, or an email magic link).
• Stand & profile info: details you add when you claim or edit a stand.
• Usage & device data: pages viewed, actions taken (e.g. saving a stand, tapping “Get directions”), approximate location from your IP, browser type, and similar technical data.
• Saved stands & check-ins: stands you save and visits you record.

Analytics & Cookies

We use a small number of analytics services to understand how the site is used and to keep it fast and reliable:

• PostHog: product analytics (which features are used, conversion funnels). Configured to respect “Do Not Track,” with session recording off.
• Google Analytics 4: traffic and audience measurement.
• Vercel Web Analytics: privacy-friendly, cookieless page and performance metrics.
• Google Search Console: how the site performs in Google Search (aggregate only).

For analytics tied to stand owner dashboards, we de-identify visitors (we store a one-way hash, never your raw IP, and only show owners aggregate counts, never your identity). We also set one first-party cookie of our own (fh_vid): a random identifier containing no personal information, used solely so owner dashboards can distinguish new from returning visitors in aggregate. Where our hosting provider supplies it, we record the approximate city associated with a request (never your IP address or precise location) for the same aggregate reporting. You can limit analytics by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser or using browser/extension cookie controls.

How We Use Information

• Operate, secure, and improve Farmstand Hub.
• Show stand owners aggregate analytics about their listing.
• Communicate with you about your account or stands you manage.
• Send you the Farmstand Hub newsletter, and only if you asked for it. See “Email & the Newsletter” below.

Email & the Newsletter

Signing in does not subscribe you to anything. Creating an account or logging in never adds you to a marketing list.

We send two different kinds of email, and they are controlled separately:

• Service email: sign-in links and messages about your account or the stands you manage. These are sent with Resend.
• Alerts you turn on: optional notifications about stands and markets you saved. Off unless you enable them, and every one carries a one-click stop link. Manage them under Email Alerts in your account.
• The newsletter: a periodic email about what is in season, new stands, and tips for owners. It is opt-in only. We add your address to it solely after you tick the newsletter box or press Subscribe, and we record the date and the wording you agreed to.

We run the newsletter on Kit (formerly ConvertKit), which stores your email address on our behalf in order to send it. You can unsubscribe in one click from any newsletter email, or by unticking the newsletter box in your account. Unsubscribing does not affect your account or your service email.

Your Choices & California Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell your personal information. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.

Data Retention & Security

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data, though no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

Children

Farmstand Hub is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy; we'll revise the “Last updated” date above when we do.
